Who do we help?

We are passionate that communities should work together to help those in crisis.

That's why we work with care professionals working in the local community who refer their clients to us. And that's why we encourage local people to donate food to their local foodbank.

All sorts of people, in all sorts of situations, sometimes need help with food. Among those we have helped are:

  • A widow who was struggling to pay off funeral expenses.

  • Families hit when they had to repay overpaid Tax Credit.

  • A family heavily in debt after the father's business collapsed when he became ill.

  • A young single mum living with her grandmother and struggling to make ends meet.

  • A man with learning difficulties who needed food when he ran out of money.
Stories
  • Andy from Community 4 came in and told this story: Andy had a couple of Food Boxes in his car for other clients, early in the morning he went to visit a client who had just had to flee his home with nothing due to violence. Because he had a food Box with him he was able to give him a food box and even make him breakfast from it.

  • Alice, who has received EFB's wrote in to say that that the food had been an "absolute godsend" and "I felt as though it was Christmas each time a delivery was made". She is thrilled with the help she has received, "when I am recovered, I sincerely hope I will be able to supply some goodies myself for others".

  • A young family facing bankruptcy and living in an isolated village (not enough money to run the car) received some EFB's and wrote to express their gratitude. "We and our girls are loved by God and we have each other and having that passage from the bible saying that God cares... was really comforting for us". "It's such a gift it's almost like I can take a breath".
